I	DESCRIPTION:

Phoenix Z is the first-ever Phoenix 3.3 modification, meaning that it has
normal and inverted play, contrast adjustment, and background walls that
you can turn on or off. In this update, there are still 5 levels of
difficulty and 5 speeds (measured in mps), and some improved sprites.
Also, the high scores have been made more fair, and it has been fully
tested for glitches, making this one of the best Phoenix games for the 83/
4+!

III	CHANGES:

In past versions, a person could play Very Easy, and due to the gross
amount of $, easily beat a high score played on Easy, same speed. This
has been fixed by decreasing the value of money gained (and prices in the
shop).

Levels of Difficulty:

Difficulty Money Value Bonus
Xtra Easy: 20 0
Easy: 15 5000
Medium: 10 10000
Hard: 5 20000
Xtra Hard: 3 30000

Speed in mps (miles per second) Bonus

1mps 0
3mps 2500
5mps 5000
7mps 7500
9mps 10000

IV	CHALLENGES:

If you have nothing better to do, try these challenges. They are most
possible on the "Xtra Slow" Setting.

Shield-less:
Try to get as far as you can without buying and more shield energy. You
can still buy weapons/helper.

Tech-less:
Try to get as far as you can without buying any new weapon/upgrades/
helper. You can still buy shields.

Double Phoenix:
Try to get as far as you can, only buying helpers.

Shop-less:
Try to get as far as you can without buying anything.

V	FAQ:

Q:Why do you not change the levels? They're boring and repetitive!
A:For that, there are optional levelsets you can download. I didn't
want to change the gameplay; I enjoy the original levelset. But
for those of you who want t change, I did add a surprise near the end.
Maybe enemies will do some unexpected things...

VI	NOTE:

Patrick Davidson made Phoenix 3.3, and I modified it a bit to make Phoenix
Z v1.1. If you decide to modify Phoenix 3.3, look at its internal.txt for
modifying rules and restrictions.

Version History:

1.0 Changed some enemy, weapon, and ship images
Added three speeds and two difficulty levels
        Changed the menus
Changed the default high score names
1.1 Made high scores more challenging and fair
        Changed option names
        Added surprise near end
You can now turn walls on and off

VII	THANKS:

Patrick Davidson, one of the greatest authors of all time!
The guy who made Phoenix X, I borrowed one or two of its sprites.

If anyone wants me to port this to the 82, 85, or 86, e-mail me and I might, although I do not own any of these calculators.
